Hacride is not your typical metal band. Hailing from France, Hacride's sound is at times epic, at other times ambient and trancy, but all times intense. Combining multiple layers of sound and incorporating vibes from multiple genres (including a spanish hip hop cover), this foursome brings a unique sound to a choked genre. Hacride has a sound reminicent of Strapping Young Lad, Meshuggah, and Gojira. The first two are credited by Hacride as unfluences, the latter hails from the same country so the similarity isn't too surprising. Amoeba is the group's second album, and is independently released. There is quite a variety of sound represented on this album, yet just enough cohesiveness is present to prevent the album from sounding like a disconnected grouping of tracks. Hacride is worth watching, especially if they continue to release albums as powerful as Amoeba.
